The Recognition Given page offers valuable insights into how recognition is being issued within your organization. This page provides visual trends and detailed information to help you understand patterns of appreciation and identify opportunities to encourage a culture of recognition.
Understanding Your Data
Let's explore the different visualizations and information available on the Recognition Given page:
% Giving Recognition Over Time
This visual allows you to track the percentage of your team members who are giving recognition compared to the overall organization's rate of giving recognition over different periods. The calculation for this rate in a given month is based on users who were active on at least one day during that month (e.g., "Of the users who were active for at least one day in January 2025, 92% issued at least one recognition"). This view is helpful for understanding the breadth of recognition-giving across your user base over time, regardless of their current active status.
Running Total Recognitions Given YOY(Year-over-Year)
This view displays the total count of recognitions issued per month across multiple years (when data is available). This is particularly useful for identifying year-over-year trends, especially if your organization experiences natural seasonal fluctuations in recognition activity. It also allows for quick identification of "up" or "down" months compared to previous years, prompting further investigation into the underlying reasons for these changes.
Recognitions Given by Monetary Status
This view provides a breakdown of the count of recognitions issued with and without points attached. This can help you understand the balance between informal appreciation and more formal recognition tied to rewards.
Recognitions Given by Tag(s)
This visual shows the prevalence of specific interest tags attached to the recognitions that have been issued. This view is valuable for understanding the adoption of your recognition interest tags and the values they represent over time. It can also be used to measure engagement with newer or time-limited tags relevant to specific initiatives within your business.

Filtering Your Recognition Data
To refine the data displayed on this page and focus on specific aspects of recognition giving, you can utilize the following filters:
- Date: Filter the data based on specific time periods.
- Leadership Hierarchy Visibility: View recognition data based on different levels within your organization's leadership structure.
- Structure Tag(s) People Visibility: Filter recognition data based on specific structure tags you have implemented (e.g., department, location).
- Tags: Filter recognitions based on specific recognition tags that were used.
- Structure Level(s):Filter the detailed report based on a specific structure level family within your organization.
- Structure Tags: Filter by a specific tag of your chosen Structure Level family.
- Active/Inactive Status: Filter to view recognition data for only active users or only inactive users.
- Role: Filter recognition data based on user roles within the platform.
Important Considerations:
- Team-Based Recognitions: When analyzing aggregate measures, a single recognition issued to multiple recipients will always be counted as one recognition given.
- Data Volume: The volume of recognition data can grow rapidly. If you are an organizational administrator and are experiencing performance issues or incomplete data, try filtering down the date range or the size of the group you are viewing. If your current selection exceeds the maximum data limit, an "i" icon will appear when you hover over the visual.
- Filtering by Structure Level: Exercise caution when using the "Structure Level(s)" filter in the "Recognition Given Report." By default, this filter is set to single-select and defaults to your organization's "Required/Primary" structure tag (often location). If you change this to a different structure level tag, the data will only reflect users who have been assigned a tag within that specific structure level. This may not represent your entire user base. You can identify "Required" structure levels (which include all users) versus "Optional" structure levels (which only include users with a tag in that level) within the filter's dropdown menu.
By understanding and utilizing the insights on the Recognition Given page, you can gain a deeper understanding of how appreciation is flowing within your organization and identify opportunities to further cultivate a positive and recognizing environment.
