The Engagement page provides a detailed look at the various ways your users are interacting with the Cooleaf platform. This page focuses on discretionary engagement – all the voluntary actions users take within the platform – offering insights into which features are most popular and overall platform adoption.
Understanding Your Data
Let's explore the different visualizations and information available on the Engagement page:
Sign-on Rate Over Time
This visual allows you to track your team's sign-on rates compared to the organization's sign-on rates over different periods. The sign-on rate for a given month is calculated based on users who were active on at least one day during that month (e.g., "Of the users who were active for at least one day in January 2025, 92% signed in"). This view is valuable for understanding how consistently users are accessing the platform over time, regardless of their current active status.
Engagement Trends
This view helps you monitor the different types of engagement occurring across the platform over time. It's particularly useful for understanding which actions users are taking most frequently and for tracking the general adoption of the program throughout its lifecycle. You can also use this to measure the impact of new challenges or surveys, shortly after their implementation. By default, the data is presented at a year/month level. To zoom out and view the data on an annual basis, hover over the visual and select the "Drill up" button that appears in the upper right corner.
Engagement Reports
Likes, Comments, and Posts Engagement Details
If you require a more granular, month-over-month breakdown (both visually and in table format) specifically for actions like comments, post, likes, etc. click the "Likes/Comments/Posts Engagement »" button located in the upper right section of the page. This will provide a focused view on these specific forms of social interaction within the platform.
Activities Engagement Report
For a detailed, user-level view of various high-level engagement activities and the points associated with those engagements, select the "Activities Engagement Report »" button in the upper right section of the page. This report provides a granular look at how individual users are interacting with different engagement features and accumulating points.
Filtering Your Engagement Data
To refine the data displayed on this page and focus on specific aspects of engagement, you can utilize the following filters:
- Date: Filter the data based on specific time periods.
- Leadership Hierarchy Visibility: View engagement data based on different levels within your organization's leadership structure.
- Structure Tag(s) People Visibility: Filter engagement data based on specific structure tags you have implemented (e.g., department, location).
- Active/Inactive Status: Filter to view engagement data for only active users or only inactive users.
- Role: Filter engagement data based on user roles within the platform.
- Activity: Filter the "Activities Engagement Report" to focus on specific types of activities (e.g., recognitions given, challenge to-do completions).
- Point Value Range: (Available in the "Activities Engagement Report" only) Filter the report to isolate records within specific point value ranges associated with activities.
Important Considerations:
- Point Value in Activities Engagement Report: Depending on the "Activity" selected in the filter within the "Activities Engagement Report," the "Value" column in the table may display positive or negative numbers. Exercise caution when filtering if your goal is to analyze the point value per specific activity type.
- Isolating Point Values: The "Point Value Range" filter in the "Activities Engagement Report" allows you to quickly identify and analyze records that fall within specific point value ranges.
By utilizing the insights provided on the Engagement page, you can gain a deeper understanding of how your users are interacting with the Cooleaf platform, identify popular activities, and measure the overall success of your engagement initiatives.
